And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives
in love lives in God, and God in him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love
drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The man who fears is
not made perfect in love. --

It
was a beautiful spring afternoon. Boris
stretched out on the sidewalk to enjoy the warm sunshine and a nap. He dreamed
of birds and squirrels, as all cats do.
After a little while, he woke up. The sky had turned dark and a little scary.
“What happened to the sun?” asked Boris. “It can’t be nighttime yet.”
The wind started blowing and the trees began to sway.
And Boris said, “God made the wind. I am not afraid.”
Off in the distance, Boris saw a flash of lightning. And then he heard the crash of thunder.
Boris was startled by the noise. He jumped to his feet.
“God made the thunder to chase the lightning,” said Boris. “I am not afraid.”
Rain started falling. First a few sprinkles, and then sheets of water came splashing down. Boris ran as fast as he could around the house and through his pet door. The wind blew, lightning flashed, and the thunder roared.
And Boris said, “God made the rain to feed the plants. I am not afraid.”
